Artist Bio

Anikin discovered The Force, one night in 2008, when Jedi Master Crisis left his CDJ100S's at Sebastian Frances's house after a party. He put on the headphones and has barely taken them off since. He picked up the skill quickly, initially mixing mainly trance, hardcore, psy and breaks. But the force had taken hold of young Anikin, and he found tracks across almost every genre that he loved, and soon added electro to the list of skills that he had mastered within The Force. His first public set at was at Nitrate's 4th Birthday.

While still being more than eager to play almost any genre of electronic music, encouraged by his peers, Anikin chose to focus his learning of The Force on dubstep, drum and bass, and his ever growing collection of electro. His powers grew, and he quickly gained a reputation for predominantly playing the best heavy, filthy, banging, tunes of any style.

Whatever the genre or occasion, Anikin is always searching to find new and unheard music to keep his dancefloors intrigued, entertained, amused and probably a little bit scared... Along with Anikins reputation for selecting only the best tunes comes his trademark ability to mix many genres competently, often covering several in a set on both CDJ's and turntables. Add his high energy performance and infectious stage presence, and see why he stands out as an instant favourite to many who witness him mixing. Since losing his longtime DJ partner Adelle to the Darkside of The Force (Melbourne), Ankin now chooses to partner with a formidable combination of 3 decks minimum, and a microphone for most appearances.

Anikin's thorough knowledge of The Force and has so far scored him residencies at Double Drop cafe, Capitol, Double Happy, Concrete Club and Piper Lounge and Bar.

Anikin is also available to school your ears on the radio. With Adelle now settled in Melbourne, the "ElectroFresh with Adelle & Anikin" show on 105.7 PulzarFM ceased, and "How I Roll with Anikin" was born. Tune in Fridays 10pm until midnight. He also plays wednesday nights with Delicious Music on www.glitch.fm

Anikin's newest venture is running W.E.Mix through White Elephant, teaching his own group of Jedi Padawans how to mix.

Anikin is proud to have appeared alongside some of electronic music's most well known names from New Zealand and abroad, including Borgore, Trolley Snatcher, Matrix, Futurebound, Sick Cycle, Concord Dawn, Minuit,  Greg Churchill and Angela Fisken (aka Aural Trash), Tom COSM, Fil Alexander, Adelle, Crisis, Sebastian Wild, Seth Hamilton, Aragorn, Ben Fulford Talbot, King Al, Timmyc, J-Red TwEQ, Psymon Barnett,  and Toby Nice. He has played at top shelf events, such as Easter Weekender CHCH, Aural Trash's 2010 tour (CHCH), Phat11, Luminate 2011, The Maddhatters Teaparty 2011 (Chch) and can regularly be found at White Elephant, M*A*S*S*I*V*E and Kill! Club events.

there is no doubt that The Force is indeed strong in Anikin. Cunts.
