After moving to Linwood, New Zealand in 2000, Hide of Rare Shot Blue caught the New Zealand dance music bug, which led to an interest in DJing and later producing tunes.  He got into D’n’B when he started producing tunes, supporting artists such as Pacific Heights , Klute , LTJ Bukem and many more.

Hide then decided to direct himself to live electronic music as Rare Shot Blue with various artists / singers mainly focusing on Trip Hop, heavily influenced by Massive Attack , Portishead , DJ Shadow etc...

Today, Rare Shot Blue is heading out on a journey to explore elements of electronica with both upbeat and downbeat artists. Live performances see Rare Shot Blue experimenting and combining the talents of many guest artists to truly make a unique blend of New Zealand electronic music.
